Updated: Oct 18

Erica: Who are you?

LaToni: My name is LaToni Thomas and I am the Senior Marketing Specialist at CBC Automotive Marketing.

Erica: How did you get into the Automotive Industry?

LaToni: I started in college with a Digital Marketing Project for a dealership and I was hooked. I saw the opportunity to grow within this industry so I applied to a company out of Texas that was a similar layout to CBC, working on Google Ads campaigns and assisting with commercials and photo shoots.

Erica: What's the greatest career lesson you've learned that you wish someone had prepped you for?

LaToni: Always stick to your Integrity, even when it’s really hard to do so. I had a situation where I could have chosen to protect someone I was close to, even though it was wrong, or I could tell the right people because it was a major violation of trust. I chose the right thing to do. It was not the popular thing but it was the right thing. No one could have prepped me for that backlash, and it made me realize that you have to stick to your values and integrity, even if everyone else is willing to let them go to get ahead.

Erica: What piece of advice would you give to someone entering the Automotive Industry?

LaToni: It’s kind of like theater to me – in the auto industry, you need to be able to take criticism, be quick to adjust and have moments where you are able to keep going. You’ve got to be able to take that on the chin and understand how to move forward. Time Management is so important as well because once you fall behind, its hard to catch up.
